Weather warnings remain in place as yellow warnings are still in place for Gran Canaria, the south and west of tenerife and fuertaventura with forecasts indicating maximum temperatures of up to 36 degrees.

In response to this new heatwave, the Canary Islands Regional Ministry of Health has issued warnings under the Plan of Preventive Actions for the Effects of Excess Temperatures on Health for several municipalities in Gran Canaria.

As a result, a red warning (high risk) has been declared from 31 July to 1 August in Agüimes, and from 30 to 31 July and 1 August in Mogán, San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Santa Lucía de Tirajana, and Tejeda.
